Angelina’s Restaurant And Bar

Angelina’s has an elegant ambience, coupled with an exquisite interior decor

Angelina’s is an award-winning restaurant hosted on the second floor of Centro Commercial in Playa Flamingo.

First off, its elegant setting creates the perfect spot for fine dining with a significant other or a lavish night out.

On that account, it is run by classical chef, Joseph Muracia, who loves to use locally sourced ingredients to bring their globally inspired menu to life.

Angelina’s takes pride in the freshness of their ingredients and meals. For instance, its artisan cheese and meat comes from nearby farms and supplies for fish comes from the catch of the day.

Thanks to its Italian heritage, Angelina’s is a one-stop restaurant for sizzling pizza and well-sauced homemade pizza on Flamingo beach. Don’t forget to save some space in your belly for a delicious dessert though.

Finally, customer service at Angelina’s is outright fantastic. Trust me. It’s no hype.

Then again, for such deluxe dining experience, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the menu pricing is close to western standards.

On a final note, if you really cherish the delicacies, you can book their catering services for large or small special occasions and share the taste with loved ones.

Coco Loco

Coco Loco’s restaurant in Playa Flamingo offers a view of the beach and their signature drink – coco loco (coconut cocktail).

If you are still wondering which restaurant rose from the ashes, then Coco Loco is your Phoenix.

Coco Loco was involved in a devastating fire, but, thanks to loyal customers and well-wishers, the bar was recently reopened.

It is an open-air restaurant that offers you the luxury of supping outdoor and enjoying a magnificent view of the sunset and ocean waves. Apparently, it’s one of a few restaurants in Playa Flamingo with a sitting area right on the sands of the beach.

Coco Loco has a casual vibe and is a great place to try out some of Costa Rica’s local delicacies. Of course, they also serve international cuisines you can settle for if you are not the adventurous type.

The drink service is just as versatile with a menu ranging from smoothies to lemonade, coffee, and signature cocktails. For one thing, you should not miss out the well-known coco loco (Coconut Cocktail) if you visit the restaurant.

On a final note, the bar/restaurant closes annually during the rainy season (between September and November). The reason behind this is quite obvious, since it’s an open-air restaurant.

Marie’s Restaurant

Give Marie’s chicken quesadilla a try or vibe to the local band

Marie’s restaurant sits right in the heart of the Playa Flamingo at “La Plaza.”

The restaurant has a middle ages architectural concept and comes alive at night with the torch style lighting surrounding its walls. The sitting area with a thatched roof covered pavilion adds a tropical feel to your dining experience during the day or at night. Its courtyard has a terraced floor coupled with a lively ambience that is brought to life by the lighting and live band performance at nights.

Okay, that sounds nice, but you are really concerned about is the food, right?

It’s just as spectacular:

The menu is stacked with lots of international cuisines from Mexican to American and some local dishes to serve its foreign and local crowd. If you love tacos, then you should try Marie’s Mexican dish – Chicken Quesadilla. It’s cherished by locals and foreigners in Playa Flamingo.

Even better, the food bills won’t put a hole in your wallet, and you will be served by a wonderful staff to complete your dining experience.

Parking can be an issue in most restaurants during the high season on Flamingo beach.  Luckily for you,  Marie’s rarely suffers the same fate with its large parking space.

Finally, if you fancy the medieval setting, you can have your big day scheduled right there.

Camparino Pizzeria

Camparino’s is an Italian restaurant and bar in Playa Flamingo

The Camparinio is a casual Italian restaurant in Playa Flamingo’s market area.

Its architectural design takes the structure of a typical Italian restaurant with its café vibe, and its menu also reverberates the expected cultural taste that leaves you craving more.

Also worth mentioning is the almost legendary status of Camparino’s sizzling hot pizza across the sands of Flamingo beach and Guanacaste region. For this reason, it’s worth a try if you visit Playa Flamingo.

Now, this doesn’t make pizza the only treat to enjoy at Camparino’s. A diverse array of Italian delicacies from flavorful Lasagna, to the eccentric Octopus Carpaccio to homemade Raviolis.

If you eat gluten-free foods, you might struggle to find a meal on the menu. In any case, the few available dishes are still tasty.

With every bite of any meal tasting better than the last, you will be happy to see that the bill does not come with a bitter after-taste – it’s sweet and budget-friendly.

A Lo Nico Restaurant

A Lo Nico’s is the best restaurant in Playa Flamingo to eat pineapple pancakes

If you are looking for a typical open-air style restaurant that provides a structural concept that still offers protection from the elements, A Lo Nico will be the right place for you. They have accomplished exactly that while a seat at almost any angle in the restaurant still offers a scenic view of the ocean waters.

An establishment of a jovial French couple, A Lo Nico offers a blend of International, Central American and local Costa Rican cuisines. As a result of the variety of menu options, it can satisfy the cravings of its foreign and local customers.

That said, the menu serves lots of typical American delights like cheeseburgers, beef burger and many sandwich options. A must try if you visit this restaurant is their special Chicken Shawarma.

Also, if you are a lover of pancakes, A Lo Nico’s pineapple pancakes are one of a kind. Plus, they serve some of the best smoothies of all restaurants in Playa Flamingo.

What makes this restaurant even more enticing is the fact that the dishes are made by locals with fresh locally sourced ingredients. This drive to be excellent is also displayed the great customer service from not only the waiters but also the owners of the restaurant that give the whole experience a much more personalized touch.

In the end, you can be sure to enjoy your meal while still having the breezy beach atmosphere. In my opinion, I would put A Lo Nico right at the top of the best restaurants in Playa Flamingo.
